The contrasts between majestic mountains, smooth, green mountain pastures, rumbling mountain torrents and quiet lakes are part of what makes the Alps so attractive. Just the right thing to test one’s limits or to provide an opportunity to turn one’s back on tedious daily routines. Or both.
Hiking in different degrees
All hiking paths in the Salzburger Sportwelt are marked and signposted. You can choose the right path to suit your respective level of physical fitness and preference.
Additionally to the normal direction signage there is also a classification of the hiking trails.
The level of difficulty is appropriately specified: "Blue" stands for easy-going pleasure hiking; "red" markings are meant for those who prefer a more sporty challenge; "black" trails are for the more experienced hikers and should only be tackled in the company of a guide who is familiar with the area.
Hit the trail with the Wanderbus (hiking tour bus) or with the cable car
The Wanderbus or the cable car can take you to one of many starting points for wonderful round trip hikes and pick you up again when your feet are weary: e.g. from the Bachalm via the Sulzenhals to the Sulzenalm or around the Rettenstein, through the Tor, from the Hofalmen along the Linzer trail to the Hofpuergl Hut and the Aualm. From the ALPIN CHALETs locations, an impressive hiking region extends and all the tours can be made without using your own car.

Let yourself be guided by a mountaineer
We would like to recommend Edi Vierthaler, a certified mountain and ski guide, to any ALPIN CHALET guests who are courageous enough to take on the challenge of a black tour.
The daily rate for mountain guides is Euro 250 up to the 3rd level of difficulty and with a maximum of 7 persons. Larger groups must be accompanied by a respective number of guides.
The XL tours of the region from Edi’s programme:
Bischofsmütze: Euro 250 with 1 to 2 persons, Euro 300 with 3 persons.
Dachstein Tour: Euro 250 with a maximum of 5 persons

In Wagrain the Summer mountain lifts offer the opportunity to explore and visit:

The right gear for mountain cheer
The old mountaineer lore in detail: In order to ensure that your tours up and down the mountains become a happy experience, you need good quality equipment. The ALPIN CHALET guests will be provided with equipment from Sport Stefan in Filzmoos and Fun&Pro Pichler in Flachau, Flachauwinkel and Wagrain: Mountain bikes, trekking bikes, hiking shoes and Nordic walking sticks in all sizes including kid’s sizes.
You arrive and discover that all your required rental equipment is already tucked away nicely in the cellar. How do they do that? Both of our partners have a well thought out and functional online reservation system.
Guests in Filzmoos order online at www.sportstefan.at and guests in Flachau, Flachauwinkl and Wagrain under www.fun-pro.com. The ordered equipment will be delivered to your chalet.

Bathing fun for ALPIN CHALET GUESTS
• Pack your swimwear and get into the Filzmoos bathing facilities with indoor and outdoor pools. The climbing wall, the funcourt (a multi-functional sport and games facility) and all kinds of children’s playing facilities provide a wide variety of fun www.erlebnispark.net. Free of charge for ALPIN CHALET guests in Filzmoos.
• In Flachau and Flachauwinkl our guests can choose between two bathing lakes nearby. Both can be reached by bike within 15 minutes and they are also free of charge.
• In Flachauwinkl and Wagrain the heated communal outdoor pool for all 4 chalets opens from May to November.
• Our guests receive a reduced entrance for the new Therme Amadé in Altenmarkt and the Wasserwelt Amadé in Wagrain
